How can advanced optical measurement contribute to more sustainable industrial processes without compromising performance and quality?
By joining the Liga Nachhaltiger Betriebe, LaVision is taking a deliberate step to address exactly this question. Over the next two years, the regional business league will accompany us as we further align our corporate practices and our measurement solutions with the sustainability ambitions of our customers across many industries.
Liga Nachhaltiger Betriebe as a framework for transformation
The Liga Nachhaltiger Betriebe is a transformation network for companies in Southern Lower Saxony. It offers structured training, moderated exchange formats and a clear framework for integrating ecological, economic and social aspects of sustainability into day to day business decisions.
At the beginning of our membership, our colleague Sonja participated in a three day “Basiscamp”. The programme provided a systematic overview of key sustainability topics and translated them into concrete action fields for LaVision. The project lead explicitly invites member companies to use the membership in their communication and to demonstrate publicly that they are committed to sustainable business practices.
Optical measurement as an enabler for sustainable industrial solutions
For industrial customers, sustainability is closely linked to measurable improvements in efficiency, emissions, resource usage and reliability. LaVision’s optical measurement systems are designed to support precisely these objectives. Typical application areas include:
Sustainable and alternative fuels such as hydrogen and ammonia, where optical combustion diagnostics help to develop efficient and low-emission combustion systems.
Spray and coating processes in paints, coatings, home care and beauty, where detailed spray characterisation enables better transfer efficiency, less overspray and reduced material consumption.
Particle and powder processes, where particle size, shape and velocity measurements support robust processes with less waste and improved product quality.
Flow and air management in HVAC, cleanroom and safety-related applications, where FlowBOS and PIV solutions help to optimise airflow, reduce energy demand and control contamination.
By providing high quality, spatially and temporally resolved data, our systems give engineering teams the insight required to understand complex physical processes, compare design options and validate that efficiency, emission and quality targets are met. In many development programmes, LaVision technology thus becomes a key enabler in the sustainability strategies of our customers in energy, manufacturing, transportation, coatings and beyond.
Internal responsibility and regional engagement
Sustainability at LaVision also has a clear internal dimension. We aim to:
use energy and resources efficiently,
organise business travel and mobility in a responsible way,
offer an attractive and healthy working environment for our team.
Membership in the Liga Nachhaltiger Betriebe provides a structured framework and access to a regional peer network facing similar challenges. In April, LaVision will participate in a tree planting campaign in the Harz region together with other member companies. In addition, the league is preparing a dedicated member company page where LaVision will be listed.
Outlook: “Sustainability at LaVision”
Over the coming months, we will further refine our sustainability roadmap and link it even more closely to our product and application portfolio. We will present our approach and selected customer use cases on a dedicated “Sustainability at LaVision” page on our website and integrate sustainability topics into our ongoing communication towards industrial stakeholders in all relevant markets.
